Clow Ridge Vineyard is located on the north western end of Anderson Valley where the fog lingers and the coastal proximity lengthen the growing season. This is a meter by meter spaced high density vineyard farmed to our specifications of a balanced fruit canopy and meticulous organic farming practices. We've been working with this vineyard for 5 years now and this is our first single vineyard bottling from this unique site. Jason has singled out the Dijon 943 clone in this single vineyard bottling. The 943 clone originates in the Côte-d'Or area of Burgundy. This clone is known for highly aromatic wines with velvety tannins, deep color, small berries, small clusters, low yields and incredible complexity. We also have this clone planted on our estate which goes into our Côté Forêt bottling if that gives any indication of how enamored we are with it. When we choose to make a single vineyard wine we are looking for distininctiveness and transparency of place. This wine delivers on that promise. Combining savory dark red fruits, morel mushrooms, dried red rose petals along with the wild herbs of the deep end of the valley. This bottling is stellar.
