The Clow Ridge Vineyard is located on the north western side of Anderson Valley where the fog lingers and the coastal proximity lengthens the growing season. This is a meter by meter spaced high density vineyard farmed to our specifications of a balanced fruit canopy and meticulous organic farming practices. We've been working with this vineyard for six years now and this is our second single vineyard bottling from this site. Winemaker Jason Drew has combined the Dijon 943 clone and a heritage Calera selection in this 2022 vintage bottling. The Dijon 943 originates in the Côte-d'Or area of Burgundy and is known for highly aromatic wines with velvety tannins, deep color, small berries, small clusters, low yields and incredible complexity. The Calera selection comes from the Calera Vineyard of the late Josh Jensen. When we choose to make a single vineyard wine we are looking for distinctiveness and transparency of place. This wine delivers on that promise. Combining savory dark red fruits, morel mushrooms, dried red rose petals along with that coastal umami character we look for from distinctive cool sites. This wine is both linear and expansive on your palate, with a finish that lingers awhile.  A top vintage from this site.
